The Brolga Project is an initiative which strives to place final-year and graduate university students into rural and regional businesses for a period of work experience. The goal of the project is to introduce students to the excellent quality lifestyle and career opportunities available in regional centres, and encourage them back to a full time regional career after they've graduated.
------------------------
Launched in October 2008, the project has grown to have a presence in 24 universities across Australia, with over 2000 students on its books. The early years saw a tremendous learning experience governing the project's direction, but since June 2012, with the development of the Mid North Coast Tertiary Work Placement Program, there's been opportunity to focus on student
placement, retention and graduate employment. Consequently, placement numbers and successes are growing exponentially, Brolga's Media Page shows some of our latest stories.
Both host agencies and students have a terrific time during placement, and almost invariably students' comment to two extents: 1) the scope of exposure they receive on placement and 2) 'People are so friendly out there!!'
